FAQs

Who do you work with?

At this time I am offering individual therapy and brainspotting services to both adults and adolescents in the state of Nevada. As it relates to adolescents both parents must give consent to treatment. I am also accepting out of state client’s for coaching.

What will the first session look like?

It’s okay to be nervous, totally normal. This session is usually the intake assessment. We will go over the intake documents that you completed online, informed consent, and gather information about your present concerns and history. Be prepared to answer a lot of questions about different aspects and areas of your life. I will likely takes notes during this session. The intake assessment session is a routine way for me to get a snap shot of you and your life experiences which is a very important part of the therapy process helping you and I to get to know each other.

Is counseling confidential?

Confidentiality is one of the primary reasons clients choose to pursue counseling. Clients want to know that they can share information freely with a trained professional that will not—and cannot—share that information with anyone else. The information shared is strictly confidential and will not be disclosed without your consent. By law, confidentiality is not guaranteed in the following cases:

  • Life-threatening situations involving immediate danger to yourself or others

  • Situations where a client is endangering individuals within a vulnerable population (e.g., abuse or neglect involving children, the elderly, or disabled persons)

  • The therapist is ordered by a judge to disclose information

  • The client signs a “Release of Information” form giving permission to include others in their treatment (e.g., family members, other healthcare providers)

  • Clients frequently report that professional counseling offered a safe, confidential environment that supported their personal exploration and growth.

How soon can I start?

The best way to get started is by scheduling a no-cost phone consultation. Phone consults are brief (e.g., 15 minutes) and help interested clients. During the consultation I ask that you share a brief overview about what's going on. It is also where we will decide if we want to move forward with scheduling. I will try to schedule you as soon as possible depending on my availability.
